Metsovo, anilio and Aoos springs

Metsovo
is a village in the furthest east of the Pindus Mountain range and the most famous in Greece. Trekkers come to see the amazing hung monasteries at Meteora, some 45 minutes’ travel southwards from Metsovo, and often integrate their trek with a visit to the monasteries, which is how they became world renowned. This large village enjoys stunning vistas. Taste the now famous locally made cheeses, visit the wineries, sit in one of the great taverns and enjoy the lively atmosphere. The village also offers a large number of trails into the surrounding forests. Metsovo has some great hotels and two ski sites, one being Metsovo and the other known as Anilio Ski Resort. Anilio is higher up and offers treks when ski season is over. It’s definitely worth spending some time here in summer when the mountains are no longer snow covered.

Aoos lake
in one of the biggest lakes in Epirus and located west o Metsovo village. Close to the ski resort of metsovo, Aoos lake getting his water from springs located in the buttem of the lake, Tha water of the lake runing in Aoos river and surounding all the east and north side of zagori and end in Konitsa
